STOMP N GRIND 3

A BENEFIT FOR THE

6TH  ANNUAL HILO INTER-TRIBAL POWWOW

Don't miss this opportunity for an affordable and rollicking good time for the whole family!  Show your support for the Sixth Annual Hilo Inter-Tribal PowWow by attending the annual benefit.

While feasting on the epicurean delights of Chef McKnight, you can enjoy the flute music of award winning Native American flautist Troy “Good Medicine” De Roche as well as songs by Dave Seawater and Friends, The Lost Chords and Ibis who are all scheduled to play.  The evening’s musical fare will range from traditional Native American songs to 1960’s ballads to rock and roll.

In addition to great food and music, there will be a silent auction featuring art by a number of local artists and more.

All proceeds will benefit the Sixth  Annual Hilo Inter-Tribal PowWow which is scheduled for Memorial Weekend, May 28-30, 2011, at Wailoa River State Park in Hilo, Hawaii.   The powwow is a celebration of Native American culture featuring music, dancing, food, arts and crafts, and storytelling in a family friendly, drug and alcohol free environment.  Last year’s celebration drew over 20,000 people making it one of the largest free events on the Island of Hawai’i.  The powwow is sponsored by the Federation of American Natives in partnership with the Big Island Resource Conservation and Development Council, Inc. Support for the powwow is provided by County of Hawai’i, Hawai’i Tourism Authority, Connections Public Charter School, and other community members.
